My Plaster Cast

2022-01-24 20:51:05
I have been wearing a plaster cast on my tibia fracture for 4 weeks. I have a few questions pls 1. CAN I GO FOR ANOTHER X-RAY NOW OR I SHOULD WAIT TILL IT'S AT LEAST 6 WEEKS? 2. CAN I HAVE AN X-RAY DONE WITH THE POP STILL ON MY LEG OR I NEED TO HAVE IT REMOVED FIRST? 3. MOVING MY LEG IN CAST, I CANT FEEL ANY PAIN IN THE FRACTURE SITE, DOES THAT MEAN THE FRACTURE SITE HAS BEEN IMMOBILZED AND SHOULD HEAL?

Hello !!! Hoping you are doing well and all is fine on your side in this pandemic situation. Answers to your questions are as follows : 1. No need if recently done and hopefully l everything is fine on that xray. You will get unnecessarily exposed to radiation. However if not done after cast, immediately go ahead with one. 2. With the advancement in xray technology significantly, you can go ahead with POP cast for xray. 3. Radiological union is the only sign considered for union.
