My dog bite me
Hello sir/mam
Yesterday my dog bite my toe, it bleeded
He's been vaccinated till date with anti rabies and other vaccines, he is around 1.5 years old golden retriever
Wound has been started healing but still have swelling,
My dog's doctor said its not a problem
But still i visited a doctor and he give me tetanus and anti rabies injection, and he said i have to take 4 more injections, on 3,7,14 and 28th day
Wound in not deep at all
Should i really have to take those injections??

Actually 5 doses of ARV don't give any long lasting protection. So even WHO recommendation is that if a person, after being fully vaccinated , is bitten by a dog even after two months, he has to have full course again.
In your case the benefit is that the
1) the dog is vaccinated.
2) the dog is under observation.
So you can relax a bit. If the dog remains all right after 10 days then you need not repeat the course.
