My 2 months baby extremely crying

2026-01-02 21:49:43
My 2-month-old baby has intense crying spells every night that last for up to 4 hours. During these episodes, his face turns dark red, and he tenses or stretches his body as if in severe pain.I can hear audible gas sounds in his stomach within 2–3 minutes of latching, which immediately leads to loud, inconsolable crying.I have been using Colicaid daily to calm him down. While it helps within 30 minutes, I am concerned about the safety and necessity of giving this medication every day for an extended period. The crying is so loud and persistent that standard soothing techniques do not work, and I feel helpless in managing his pain. Please advice.

Please don't seek Tele-consultation for a two month old baby.  In fact till the age of 5 years a physical consultation should be obtained.

Any fever, regurgitation of milk just after feeding, any lump in upper right abdomen? USG of abdomen needed to rule out any GIT abnormality. Persistent crying for hours is not normal.
