Dear parents, There is only one criteria to know breast milk is adequate or not is growing weight of baby gain after a month. In first quarter wt gain per month is 750gm to 1000gm per month in first four month and in second quarter weight gain per month is 500GM to 750gm per  month.

Check the baby's weight. At this age the weight should be between 5-6 kg. If the baby is gaining weight well, sleeps about 2-3 hours after feeds and is passing urine  6-8  times in a day, then the baby is getting sufficient milk. You should increase your water and fluid intake ( as temperatures are increasing)and continue taking nutritious food to improve your milk quality and quantity. Continue exclusive breast feeding for at least 6 months. Burp the baby well after feeds. You can continue giving colic aid drops.
