The mind tends to fixate on pursuits that are deemed to be sources of three things in general - beauty, pleasure and security. You will notice that these pursuits keep changing as you grow and evolve as a person.
Hence, it is natural that the very activity that was a source of pleasure earlier no longer serves the purpose today.
Forgive me for stating the obvious - consulting an expert and committing to a de addiction treatment regimen will help address the challenges that you are dealing with right now.
Remember the time you were learning to walk as a child - while it was important to attend to the bruises as you felt repeatedly fell down, they did not deter you from the joy of taking those baby steps forward.
While addressing the challenges that go along with unlearning the habit, let your main focus be on what is calling for your attention and needs to be addressed - committing your attention and focus toward something that truly fulfills you and resonates with you.
