My 50 year old uncle has Lumbar Spondylosis (L4, L5). He experiences numbness in his thumb, index finger and the middle especially while lying down. Can this be treated without surgery?

More detailed assessement would be required in order to comment about surgery. However he should do regular physiotherapy.
