Low synovial fluid

I recently went to the hospital they scanned my knee said " you have low synovial fluid" . And given some medicine. Is low synovial fluid a disease? Symptoms knee popping without pain, sometimes joints pain not severe just uncomfortable. Is this serious illness?

Low synovial fluid as such is not a disease . It is due to inflammation of the synovium , mostly synovial fluid get decreased in the joint in old age individuals . Some medicines are there to regenerate the synovium and produces this lubricating substance . Due to low synovial fluid you may have crepitus in your joint . Other condition is there snapping knee syndrome that should be ruled out . Both conditions there will be minimal pain .
