There is no problem with your platelet count. Do not check reference ranges and raise your anxiety levels. If you are easily bleeding or bruising that would be a cause of concern but since that isn't the case I feel you shouldn't get overtly worried. Treat & understand the patient. Don't treat the reports. That's the dictum I follow.

Why do you say it is low platelet count? Your platelet count is 1,42,000 /cu mm. You can be taken up for any operations with this platelet count. You will not have any bleeding problem. You should never be mathematical when it comes to dealing with any parameters in Medical Sciences. Otherwise so many people will comit suicide because they are shorter than Amitabh Bachchan.
