Ligament fiber tearing on ankles
While playing badminton i have got my both ankles hurt and consulted orthopedic for the pain and swelling. Doctor told me that it is ligament fiber tearing and not to play for 2 weeks. I have taken complete rest for 2 weeks and started walking slowly after that with little pain. Now its been almost a month and still i am getting pain and swelling very often. I am using ankle band whenever i get pain and swelling. How long it takes to heal and I have taken anti inflammatory tablet on doc recomd.

Hi. Please know that ankle ligaments take 3-6 weeks to heal up after you do adequate immobilization that is by cast. As if you don't immobilize the joint then it would cause your ankle to move with every movement and hamper your ligament to heal. So it's important to immobilise your ankle joint. You can still do it after 1 month. Don't exert and keep playing
