Knee pain and walking

I have slight pain in both the knees whlie bending or climbing stairs. I hve statred doing knee exercise for the same. I hve a habit of walking for 45 mins ( two times ie 1.5 hours) in a day. I dont feel any pain or discomfort while walking. Is it safe for my knees if i walk for 1.5 hours in a day?

Hi, this is Dr.Rajesh. U need to do specific Muscle Strengthening which supports your Knee and physiotherapy will deal with this . Nothing major,u can cont your walking, cycling will be better than walking.

Hi Practo User, Walking is always good. Please follow a few other things as well: Don't walk on hard or concrete surface. Don't walk up and down the stairs. Wear properly padded soft shoes. Don't sit cross-legged on the floor or use a Indian toilet. Regards.

Yes that's fine.. Continue knee strengthening exercises as well.. Some warmup and stretching exercises too

walking 45 min on straight road/ ground is fine avoid up hill or down hill walks
