Jaw aches and pain in head

When swallowing food through my left side of the mouth, a sudden shock like pain on the head just above the ear. So swallowing only through right sie. Whom should i consult with, a dentist or neurologist? Please advice

Consult with oral pathologist or specialist in oral medicine. you may need medicine like carbamazapine, but it need to be diagnosed first.

It sounds like Temperomandibular joint disorder. It needs clinical as well as diagnostic examinations to come to a conclusion. It will be better to see an Orthodontist or Prosthodontist who is trained in TMD management.
