Jaw aches and pain in head

When swallowing food through my left side of the mouth, a sudden shock like pain on the head just above the ear. So swallowing only through right sie. Whom should i consult with, a dentist or neurologist? Please advice

Most probably you are suffering from trigeminal neuralgia.

It sounds like Temperomandibular joint disorder. It needs clinical as well as diagnostic examinations to come to a conclusion. It will be better to see an Orthodontist or Prosthodontist who is trained in TMD management.
