My gynic suggested this tablet for valuation induction on online consult though my periods are regular . What's the probability of twins ? It's a banned drug earlier , is it safe to use ? Any chance of its ill effect on baby post birth?

Letrozole is the first drug of choice for ovulation induction followed by clomiphene. The chances of having twins with clomiphene is around 10-15% when compared to Letrozole around 5%

It is a safe drug for induction of ovulation. It was banned earlier in the year 2000. It was again approved for use in 2012 and is being used. Like any other ovulation inducing drugs it can also cause twins but the incidence is 1%. No known ill effects on the baby.
