Is CT PNS Plain Scan Recommended
My nose is blocked without cold or cough. When I consulted the ENT Doctor. He gave medication for 15 days. Which didn't yield the desired results. So he has suggested CT PNS Plain scan.
Is this recommended? I read that CT Scans are more harmful. kindly guide.
No, your doctor is right.
CT scans, like X-Rays, are forbidden only during pregnancy. So, if you are pregnant, inform your doctor, who will suggest a different option like an MRI scan which will however be much more expensive, but is the only option during pregnancy!

Try and evaluate common causes of nasal block. CT scan helps to evaluate sinusitis and also bony and soft tissue obstruction. CT is better option than X ray, of course .
