You are right but ultimately one has to find a way out to get out of the mess around. One has to know his strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats. If he is successful in identifying these things, then it becomes easy to draw lines of actions how far to go,where to stop, how much to expect, what to reject etc. If you are able to preset your actions with clarity on above points, it is possible to keep your mind free from uncalled for worries and that helps in making your mental framework more strong capable of taking things head on. That keeps you stress free or reduces your stress far below what you experience now.
