Hello Doctor, I am 22 years old. My menstrual cycle has been irregular since menarche. I get periods every 15–20 days. Sometimes the flow is heavy, sometimes light. This pattern has never become regular. I have taken medicines earlier for cycle regulation multiple times. My periods become regular only while I am taking the medicine, but once I stop, they become irregular again. I also feel bilateral breast firmness/tightness at times. I want to know the possible cause and which tests (hormonal or ultrasound) I should get done before starting any further treatment.
