Intramedullary Rod removal

I have a rod in my femur since 6 years. I face little problem while bending my leg, as if something is tearing my flesh near my knee. I am planning on the rod removal. What will be the time after which I can walk with full weight bearing.

You can walk straight away after surgery but need to avoid sporting activities for 6 weeks.
