Identify triggers- try to understand if there are specific things, people, events, etc., that make you feel angry. It could also be a particular time of the day. After you understand what elicits anger, you can try and consciously avoid it or figure out ways of dealing with that specific concern.
Physical Exercise: Take some time to engage in simple physical activity- Climbing stairs, skipping a rope, walking, basic stretches and cardio. Through exercise, you can expend excess energy that might be causing disruptions in your mood. Physical activity helps regulate emotions; it releases ‘endorphins’- which are essentially hormones that play a role in uplifting your mood.
Yoga and meditation: clearing your mind and focusing on your breathing and perhaps repeating a mantra during meditation have been useful in dealing with anger issues. Through yoga, you can better understand your body and relax your muscles to feel less stressed and peaceful.
Approaching a mental health professional will certainly be beneficial for you; therapy can provide ways of coping with any difficulties and stresses of life.
Managing anger issues can take time and effort, so be patient with yourself; you have already made a significant step towards improving by asking for help. Remember that your anger and other feelings are a separate part of you, not your whole identity.
