Get a xray done, rule out fracture. Dip toe in ice water, 3 times a day for 10days. Don't apply turmeric. If fracture the support injured tow with a slab.

If you stubbed your toe, then you should give complete rest and keep it elevated for few days to relieve that swelling and pain. Meanwhile the bruise under the nail will take upto 6 weeks to relive. If there is no injury, but toe starts swelling and there is severe pain then it might be infection. It should be treated urgently with tablets or injections. If it is still not relieved, then we might have to go for small surgery
Next Steps
Blood test, x ray
Health Tips
Always keep it elevated over pillow while sleeping. While sitting keep it on another stool or chair
