My blood pressure usually remains 140/90 at resting condition. But I feel somewhat my pressure spikes while getting tensed and anxiety , on that time pressure measured 180/110 with palpitations and heart bit also reached upto 130 bpm. While I went doctor chamber last pressure was 160/110 mm hg and doctor advised to start for medicine as follows :  Bitacap Tr 40 mg at after breakfast and Olmesar 20 mg at evening or night . What I feel pressure abnormalities noted while getting more anxious not always. My current age is 39. What should I do need to be start medicine or monitor alternative way . Because heared that medicine can't be stopped once started.

Your BP readings at 140/90 and >180/100 indicates that you have stage 2 hypertension. At this stage you have to take the antihypertensive medicines, your doctor has prescribed along with the life style management,to prevent the complications .

At 39 years, with: • Resting BP ~140/90 mmHg • Spikes to 160–180 / 100–110 during anxiety • Palpitations up to 130 bpm • Normal cardiac evaluation You are not dealing with “only anxiety” anymore. This pattern fits early (Stage 1–2) hypertension with anxiety-triggered sympathetic surges. Important points you must understand: • Repeated readings ≥140/90 at rest = true hypertension, not just stress • Anxiety does not create hypertension, but it exposes it • BP of 180/110 is dangerous, even if episodic • White-coat hypertension usually normalizes outside clinic — yours does not So your doctor’s concern is valid and appropriate.
Next Steps
1. Yes — start the medication (for now) Your prescription is reasonable: • Bitacap-TR 40 mg (beta-blocker + extended release) • Controls heart rate, palpitations, anxiety-related BP spikes • Olmesartan 20 mg • Protects heart, brain, kidneys • Long-acting, safe, first-line drug
Health Tips
• ❌ Do NOT stop medicines abruptly once started • ❌ Do NOT chase BP numbers during panic • ❌ Do NOT rely only on lifestyle when BP already reaches 180/110 • ✔ Reduce salt to
