HSV-1 IgG & IgM, HSV-2 IgG:-ve, IgM:+ve

I recently got myself tested through a STD panel. I just routinely get it done as i am sexually active. I havent had any sexual encounter in the last 6 months. The result showed HSV -1 IgG and IgM as negative. Also my HSV -2 IgG was negative but my HSV -2 IgM came back as positive with a value of (13.3). I do not have symptoms nor did 6 months ago. Rest of the panel came back negative. What should i do, should i be worried? Whom should i consult to? Thank you

HSV-2 IgM positive with all other markers negative (IgG HSV-1 & 2) can be a false positive. No treatment is needed if you’re asymptomatic. For confirmation, repeat IgG after a few weeks or consult online for detailed evaluation.

Incidental diagnosis of genital herpes doesn’t require antiviral. You have latent herpes infection. So in case you ever get blisters or erosions promptly consult a dermatologist. As of now you can be put on immune stimulators . Consult if you have any other doubts.
