Yes you can start weaning foods. Don’t start with solids directly. Start with liquids first. You can start with dal water, puréed dal, then proceed to semi solids like khichri, dalia, suji and besan halwa etc.
And no bottled water is not necessary. But you do need to give filter water.

Don’t start all things at once. Introduce a single food at a time, and then continue this for about a week so that the baby develops it’s taste.
