It’s highly accurate and can detect HIV infection earlier than antibody-only tests. 3. HIV RNA Test: This test detects the virus itself and can identify an infection very early. It’s not typically used for routine screening but may be recommended if there’s a reason to suspect a recent infection or if other tests are inconclusive.
