High esr and crp

My husband had knee swelling and he was given a steroid injection recently by an Ortho Dr in right knee. However his left knee is starting to swell now. Suspecting arthritis, he took blood test for ESR, crp, anticcp and uric acid which gave 80mm, 7.1, 7, and 5.4 respectively. Why is the ESR and crp high? Kindly suggest how to proceed and what specialist to refer this condition. Thank you

Positive CRP and ESR indicates infection. Refer to a orthopedic surgeon and get aspiration done for synovial fluid analysis.
