HbA1c reflects your average blood sugar over the past 2–3 months, so what you ate in the last few days won’t significantly change the result. Occasional sweets or outside food in the last week won’t distort the test — but if such eating has been frequent across months, that will show up. Since you also have thyroid issues and PCOS, both can increase risks of insulin resistance, making HbA1c monitoring important.
Next Steps
Get the HbA1c as planned, check fasting sugar if needed, and discuss with your doctor whether additional hormonal or metabolic tests are required. For a personalised review and risk assessment, book a consult on Practo or visit my clinic in Dwarka.
