Having high fever from the last 4 days

Hi I'm having severe high fever, along with headache, joint pain and occassional vomiting from the last 4 days. I have taken fever medication but the fever has not gone down yet. Also during night, the fever rises more and I have to switch off the fan due to this as I get chills from inside. Please let me know what is happening and what can be done to cure this fever.
