I have shoulder pain that travels to my hand, a hard lump at the back of neck near the top of it but about 2 fingers before the base of my skull. The area hurts.

Ok  ! You may have cervical spondylosis cause of which your neck muscle may be strained ,Please Visit a good physio and get it treated.
Next Steps
Shoulder pain looks like reffered pain. so don't get confused & waste time.
