Growing lump/hump on back of neck
Hello, I’m 20 years old. I’ve noticed a lump or hump on the back of my neck since around September/October. It has slowly gotten bigger, and now I can clearly feel and see the difference between my neck and upper back. It feels like a ball under the skin. I’m not sure what it is or which doctor to see, so I’d like to get it checked. Please guide me on what this could be and what tests I may need.

Hello, By hump/lump do you mean that you are noticing change in the curvature of your neck and upper back or is there a localised swelling at the back of neck/upperback? (A clinical picture would help) Is the hump/lump painful? Are the neck movements restricted? How is the skin over the lump/hump? Any redness, sinus, pus/discharge, warmth? Is the lumb hard(like a bone) , firm (like tip of your nose), soft (like your lips) to feel? Does the lump moves under the skin? Slips under the fingers? Is the there any pain in back/ shoulders/ upperlimbs? Is there any tingling numbness is the upper limbs? Any history of fever, weight loss, loss of appetite? Any history of trauma/injury?
Next Steps
Needs detailed physical examination by an orthopaedician or at least by a general physician.
