Gum abscess not healing

Hello, My 5 year son had cavity which after filling led to gum abscess.So we did root canal (placing cap is pending). becoz of gum gum abscess not healing even after 1 week of antibiotics.what to do ?

If the abscess persists despite root canal treatment (RCT), it may indicate a failed RCT. An X-ray is recommended to assess the condition, and re-treatment (re-RCT) may be necessary for the affected tooth.
