Please get a night guard fabricated. Its a thin vacuum formed plastic which will protect the teeth when she grinds subconsiously. Also please advice her to wear it during daytime too, it will help her a lot. The plastic trays are hardly visible, take it off at meal time.

Hi, First your mother should visit a dentist to rule out problem of abnormal bite which may be the cause for teeth grinding and she should wear nightguard (Plastic trays covering upper & lower teeth ) so that abnormal forces exerted by teeth grinding is not harming the teeth.

Firstly you need to take your mother to dentist. Get all diagnostic procedure done depending on that only treatment can be advised. Night gard is option for very short duration. Your mother may need crowns on all posterior teeth to prevent further wearing of those teeth.

Hi The best way to avoid teeth grinding is to wear a night guard while sleeping . It will take the load of the grinding teeth and prevent teeth damage. The condition is called as Bruxism. Usually seen in individuals with heavy work load or personal stress. Regards

Hello, Mam,You need to take her to a dentist and get a night guard fabricated. These are thin vacuum pressed plastic trays that can be easily slipped onto the upper and lower arches,at night before sleeping, that will prevent the opposing teeth touching each other, acting as shock absorbers. These are very helpful. If teeth are severely worn out because of night grinding it requires crowns. This will reduce sensitivity of tooth and increase facial height if its lost because of grinding of teeth.
