Got Bitten by a Kitten

2024-07-11 11:00:20
On 10th July at 11 PM I was bitten by a kitten approximately 3–4 months old that seemed to be healthy but somehow reached the terrace of the building and was crying constantly to go down where her mother was. I tried to help and catch her, but while doing so, she bit me in my pinky finger on my right hand, and there was blood coming. I reached my house in the next 2 minutes, washed the wound with running water and soap, and also applied isopropyl rubbing alcohol. The next day, July 11, I visited a doctor, and his assistant gave me two shots on my back, left and right sides, one for tetanus and the other for the rabies vaccine (refer image attached) . I just want to confirm that is everything  fine? What are some precautions I should take? There seems to be just a bit of swelling in the figure, but no pain. Should I also keep an eye on Kitten to see whether she is healthy or not? Is Rabies vaccine shot given at the back? Doctor told me to get 3 shots. Thank you.

Rabies vaccine shot is given in the deltoid region and not on the buttocks. You complete the dose of rabies vaccination. Also observe the kitten for next 10 days. If the wound is infected and painful, take a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications. For further queries or guidance whatsapp nine three seven zero two eight four three seven six.
