Hi, I am 8 month pergnant now. 26 weeks they took blood glucose test, after taking sugar syrup value is 11.7 mmol. My doctor told to maintain my diet and monitor glucose value. I am doing diet and monitoring value using glucometer. Sometimes I take more food the value is going high. But now my value is under control. I want proper diet chart. Can you please suggest. Thank you

Gestational diabetes develops when a woman cannot produce enough hormones during pregnancy due to this reason most women will need to check sugar levels in the morning and between meals. At least three small to medium meals and 2 to 4  snacks per day. Eating low glycemic index food.. need more information about you so contact me for customised diet plan

Hi, Gestational diabetes is quite common during pregnancy, but please don't worry so much. You just need to maintain a balanced diet which will provide all the essential nutrients. Whenever you feel hungry, you can have food, just keep in mind that there must be either vegetables or fruits or complex carbohydrates , ex: in snacks you can have upma which is prepared by vegetables and semolina  which is also a complex carbohydrate and these will help to control your blood glucose level. Please don't compromise with the calorie intake because it is required for proper growth and development of your baby.
