If you have only redness in the throat and no pain or any other symptoms then you need not take any medication for it. Just continue the antacids till you get complete relief. As to precautions, avoid spicy and oily foods. Avoid eating large meals at night. Avoid lying down immediately after eating. Prefer to have more amount to fruits and vegetables in your diet. Avoid tea and coffee.
