Only treatment for Gallstone disease is Cholecystectomy (commonly done laparoscopically) But only symptomatic gallstone disease needs surgery. However there are few Indications of surgery even in asymptomatic gallstone disease . Few relevant among them are 1. Stone size more than 2.5cm 2. Family history of Gallbladder carcinoma 3. Associated GB polyps 4. Stone impacted in neck of GB However considering your young age, the risk of becoming symptomatic is higher.
