Frequent Low blood sugar
My mother is having diabetes from almost 20 years. She was on insulin (huminsulin) twice a day and metformin(500mg) thrice a day. Her levels were falling down frequently (fbs 40-50 and rbs 80 around) some time levels are too high (fbs 200 around and rbs 250). I have observed this with the same medication. Is that some thing happening to her and which we need to worried or any further diagnosis is required? Or just reducing the dose will be fine. Thanks in advance
Sudden fluctuations in blood glucose can happen due to many reason like type of insulin, dose of insulin, site of insulin injection or kidney issues considering long standing diabetes. for now can reduce the dose of insulin and check routine blood sugar with kidney and liver test.
