Free fluid, pain in left side abdomen

I've diagnosed with UTI and under medication for 1 month. Still feel pain in lower left abdomen. My doctor(urologist) said that it maybe a sign of PID. What does it mean "free fluid in POD". I'm worried about PID, want to know what it is. As I'm unmarried doctor nearby doesn't take PID under consideration so I want to talk freely about it. I don't have white discharge so what is it?? Just UTI or PID.

PID means Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. POD means Pouch of Douglas. It is just a space between the uterus infront and Intestine behind. This is significant because that is the lowest part of the abdominal cavity. When there is fluid in POD it generally implies that there is infection of the uterus or tubes and ovaries.  Your treating doctor is partly right when he says that he doesn't want to consider PID. PID can be because of many causes, some infection coming from outside and may be from inside the abdomen.
