Fistula in ano+ piles

I have fistula in ano operation 1week before but still pus is draining and my surgeon is is telling it will gradually reduce within 10 days is it normal or my surgeon is lying

Yes, it will take time to heal, because that raw wound area continuously touch with your motion while passing stools, needs good local hygiene, do sitz bath three times daily and after every stool,show to your surgeon regularly every week. Needs good follow up with surgeon after surgery
