It is a case of recurrence of Anal fistula after surgery. Anal Fistula can be completely and conveniently treated without surgery by Ayurvedic Ksharsutra Therapy. Clinical trials conducted by Indian Council of Medical Science (ICMR) at AIIMS New Delhi and PGI Chandigarh have confirmed that Ksharsutra treatment is more convenient and more successful than surgery in the patients of Anal Fistula. No hospitalization or bed rest is necessary in this treatment. In this therapy Ksharsutra - a medicated thread will be placed in Fistula tract. Medicine present in Ksharsutra debrides the Fistula tract and induces healing. This medicine works for a period of 5-7 days so this thread needs to be changed with a new Ksharsutra at a week or 10 days interval. No. of Ksharsutra changes required for complete healing of Fistula tract depends on length, depth and branching patter of Fistula. It is observed that fistula heals @ 0.5 to 1 cm in a week i.e. to say a fistula tract is of 3 cm length it may require 4-5 weekly changes.
