Finasteride can cause erectile dysfunction, reduced libido and ejaculatory changes. It does not reduce testosterone production; it blocks conversion of testosterone to DHT. Most patients improve after stopping, but recovery may take weeks to months, and rarely symptoms can persist. “Hyperspermia” is not typical—finasteride more commonly reduces semen volume.
