Dear patient when cavities pain after filling then most likely there can be the following reasons. most important things is to differentiate between sensitivity and pain It could be any of the following things Deep filling which is sensitive to certain foods and temperature changes High point left behind after the filling Permanent pulp(nerve)damage which will need further treatment These are all to be decided by the dentist but most importantly you need to be comfortable and pain free you can choose to go back and get them checked by the same doctor or opt to start treatment with a specialist
Next Steps
full mouth digital xray called the OPG

When cavities are deep filling doesn't suit and it will lead to pain as pulp( nerve) tissue is exposed. So x ray should be taken to rule out the cause.  Consult a dentist as soon as possible.  If cavities are deep root canal treatment should be done.

Hi, If pain is there xray has to be taken to rule out whether the cavities are not deep & if only sensitivity is there use a sensitivity reducing mouthwash.
