Hoping your father is doing fine and all will be okay once again.
It is difficult to comment without having a look at the xrays. Because there always is a scope for interobserver differentiation.
However , if undisplaced or minimally displaced ,spiral oblique fractures are having more area of contact at the fracture ends and can be managed conservatively.
