Extraction RCT, wisdom tooth.

Hi! I've been a diabetic type 1 patient since 2012 and I want to extract my RCT tooth, wisdom teeth and look to cure minor cavities. As my teeth alignment is zigzag and small mouth while I have to look after diabetes level.

As a Maxillofacial surgeon I would suggest extraction of wisdom tooth under good sugar aka diebeties control and with cover of a good broad spectrum antibiotic.

Hello. Since you have Type 1 diabetes, all the dental treatments you mentioned—RCT tooth extraction (if the tooth is not salvageable), wisdom tooth removal, treatment of cavities, and later correction of your teeth alignment—can usually be done safely with proper planning. The first step is a comprehensive dental examination with X-rays to assess which teeth need treatment. Before any surgical procedure, it’s important that your blood sugar is reasonably well controlled. Please share your recent HbA1c value and your current fasting/random blood sugar levels, along with the insulin regimen you are on. Depending on the findings, we can plan your treatment in stages: • Treat cavities to prevent progression. • Perform extraction of the non-restorable tooth and/or wisdom tooth if indicated. • Once your oral health is stable, discuss orthodontic treatment for alignment. With good diabetes control and appropriate precautions, healing is generally satisfactory. Please get a consultation done so the dentist can examine you and prepare a personalized treatment plan.

Hello All other treatments are fine, but wisdom tooth extraction is only recommended when you’re having a normal level of diabetes
