Hi...A clouded mind perceives everything in a negative loop. Try to understand this, you are experiencing a typical approach-avoidance conflict. On one hand you hold close your beliefs (patriarchy) and on the other hand you don't want to be left alone. You are aware of the possibility that this approach might lead you into a bad marriage or loneliness in the long term. You are constantly being made aware of these things by your family and it is all taking a huge toll on your mental health. You want things to change but you are unsure if anything will change or not. Let me tell you that it is a loop in your thought process that is making you believe that there is no end to it. But in real, these are only life challenges that most people overcome with little support, guidance, and an accomodating approach. Marriage is a social institutions and if two people come into a martial relationship, they are choosing to raise a family together. It is not like a typical marriage that is portrayed in movies but it is also not as bad as it is portrayed in news channels/papers. Real marriages exist somewhere in-between and if you choose wisely and do it with a right approach, you will also have a good partner and a family that you raise together. In marriage, men and women seek very different things and it is not always the same. Different people find different things valuable in different phases of their lives. And, if you are able to attend to your insecurities well, you will also be able to find a good partner and raise a healthy family.
