Elevated tsh in first trimester

Hello dr i am 37 year old, 5 week pregnant with my second baby and never had elevated tsh before. however now when i got thyroid tested my tsh is 5.67 and t3 t4 are normal . my dr has put me on 50mg thryonorm. will i have to continue this all my life or if goes away after pregnancy

This medicine is for pregnancy only. After delivery you need to check thyroid levels and then decide whether you need to continue or not.

Thyroid medication is generally for life At this  point of time you need to understand that thyroid levels should be less then 2.5 pre conceptionally and in the first trimester As of now you need to start taking a medication and get your thyroid levels checked every 45 days
