Dog scratch

2021-12-05 22:56:34
Hi. I have a pet dog at home who happened to attack a little bit on my brother. My brother ended up having a few scratches on the skin. My dog is vaccinated. The issue here is that this incident happened a few months ago (approx 6 months). We got a bit delayed with the vaccination but then later consulted a doctor to check if we need to get him vaccinated against rabies. The doctor mentioned that since it's been a while and my brother has taken a covid shot, it's not needed anymore. Kind of worried as the thought crosses by. What should be done? Should he take a course of rabies now or is it okay?

If it's only scratches no need to worry. If the dog's saliva come in contact with your skin and mucosa then you have to get vaccinated.
