A one-day delay in your 3rd dose (taking it on the 21st instead of the 20th) is clinically acceptable and will not compromise your immunity against Rabies. The most important factor in Rabies PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) is completing the total number of doses. Your body has already started producing antibodies from the first two shots, and this minor shift in the 3rd dose date will not cause any problem in your overall protection
Next Steps
Stick to the Original Plan: For your 4th dose (April 27th) and 5th dose (May 11th), try to stick to the original dates mentioned. There is no need to shift the future dates because of the 1-day delay in the 3rd dose.
Complete the Course: Do not skip the 4th or 5th dose. Full long-term immunity is only guaranteed after the complete 5-dose (or 4-dose ID) cycle is finished.
Wound Monitoring: Since it was a scratch, ensure the area is fully healed. If you notice any unusual redness or itching at the scratch site, consult for a local check-up.
No Special Precautions: You can continue your normal diet and daily activities. There are no food restrictions while taking the Rabies vaccine.
