Dog bite and injection
Hi, I completed my full four-dose anti-rabies vaccine course. Then, 18 days after completion, my pet dog licked my wound. I took two booster shots—one of 0.8 units and the other of 0.4 units. The day after completing my booster doses, my dog put his bare paws on my wound, and he licks his paws a lot, and now I don't know what to do.

You are fully protected and there is nothing to worry about. You completed a full 4-dose anti-rabies vaccine course and then additionally took two booster doses â your antibody levels are at maximum protection. A pet dog licking a wound or placing paws on a wound after you are already fully vaccinated and boosted carries no meaningful risk. Rabies virus requires the saliva of a truly infected animal entering a fresh wound â a pet dog licking its paws and then placing them on skin is an extremely indirect and negligible exposure, especially with your vaccination status.

Since u r vaccinated no need to worry just keep your wounds clean and covered.
If you notice any kind of redness or pus in wound . Get your wound treated properly and start antibiotics as paws can carry other infective agents as well.
