Do I need a thyroid test?

Hello there, recently my Masi brought this to my notice. There are several people on my maternal side who have thyroid and my mom's does too. I was told about some symptoms and among those I am tired very often, lately I have persistent hair fall and my hands tremble too. I wanted to know what test I need to get? And do I need to take the reports to a doc?
