Disc prolapse has no bearing on pregnancy. Natural course of disc prolapse is pain on and off relapse .so with or without pregnancy pain can occur and has to be managed accordingly. 50 % of MRI are incidental .ie MRI may show disc prolapse but patient has no symptoms.. The MRI and pregnancy are not related. Please do not deprive the mother from her happiness due to this common MRI findings. For her back pain focus on her sitting habits, working atmosphere and encourage her to do the right exercises. A more sedentary lifestyle will increase her back pain.
Next Steps
if required we can do a teleconsultation and I can guide her about ergonomics and back care.

The MRI shows there is disc wear and tear. It is not causing any significant compression of the nerve. With this picture you will have back pain in the later stages of your pregnancy. Be prepared for that. Apart from that, there is not other issue
