Disc herniation

Please check my mri image attached,It seems I have a disc herniation but my back pains and symptoms are not as bad as compared to other people who I came across with the same issue, please let me know how bad is this herniated disc it seems to be big compared to others, looking for a non invasive me method of treatment for full recovery, I am into sports  weight-lifter by profession but right now avoiding heavy lifts and postures that can further elevate the issue.. Please advice

No operation. But you need rehab before going back to sports.

You have large disc prolapse at L5-S1 level and you are correct that your symptoms will not be that bad when compared to others .. that's because you are lucky for the level part atleast as other level disc of same size will produce more symptoms .. Majority of disc issues are because of bad posture and imbalance between front and back muscles with loss of normal spinal curves .. and most of the disc prolapse are treated conservatively non surgical . Avoid activities that can build up pressure in your abdomen like lifting weights to prevent further prolapses . You will need a proper clinical evaluation before treatment. Though Disc prolapse can be successfully treated conservatively in many cases it really depends on the clinical presentation and duration of symptoms. Please see a Spine surgeon or Sports med surgeon in your area.
