Hi, i am starting a workout plan which is 12 week, and i have to have high protein diet. My height is 5ft 9.3inches and weight is 89kg. So can anyone please suggest how much gram of protein should be consumed per kilogram of body weight. Will low carb diet help me lose fat?

Hi You seem to have done most of your research. As a stereotype, yes that works. But a lot depends on what your body metabolism works like. It’s important for you to understand that pathways for carbohydrate, fat and protein are different and it works differently for different people. So initially some hit and trial will be required. As a starting point you can start with a optimum (maybe not very high) protein diet and a moderately low carbohydrate content and see how that works for you. You can then start increasing the intensity of your workout and your protein content. The amount of protein required usually varies from 0.7 to 2. I think initially you should target around 75 to 85 grams of protein. And don’t worry too much about protein all the time. Our bodies have residual protein and it covers the less protein in a lot of days. But you need to intake a good amount of water to distribute your protein content and also a good amount of fibre with it. This is a brief background. I hope this helps
